Expedition Apparel is a family business based in Melbourne, Australia. It was created by Howard Thompson in 1988. He’s been 50 years in the industry and is currently celebrating his 100th seasonal range. When he started Expedition Apparel back in late 80’s, Howard Thompson, the father, could see into the future. “I could see a future in making clothes for Australians,” said Howard Thompson reminiscing about his 25 years in the industry.
In 2001 Expedition Apparel introduced its own brand Boston Fine Tailoring and then in 2006 it became the Master Licensee for global fashion house Daniel Hechter. One year later, Howard Thompson handed over the management of the business to his son Peter Thompson.
